This fall semester, I had the opportunity to take Zumba as my lifetime fitness course at Salt Lake Community College. Long before enrolling to Zumba, I was not conscious of my unhealthy lifestyle and habits. For me "lifelong wellness" was something I aspired to be able to do, but I never truly took action to make it a part of me. I now understand that "lifelong wellness" is being able to maintain balance with relation to physical, metal and social health. This course gave me ideas and strategies I could go about to make these
practices long term, such as, keeping track of my food intake, develop weekly goals that were in sync with my health and wellness, and exercise through different forms. What inspired me the most was the energetic spirit of the instructor who evoked a great dynamic environment.
Zumba brought upon me great outcomes for this semester and my overall life. The center of attention in my life used to center in academics, the minimum consciousness I had regarding the importance of health and exercise were very vague and not something I could visualize myself doing. However, Zumba helped me develop that balance I badly craved in my life and let me see the fun that could result if I exposed myself to lifelong wellness. I now instead of placing all my free time in electronics, go out and exercise. I have also started eating healthier and began keeping a balanced diet.
Through Zumba, my attitude and spirit have shifted to being in a more relaxed open minded state. When stressed, I meditate or go out walking with my dog. When debating junk food over home cooked meals, I now am able to see the pros and cons and decide more wisely. When confronted with social dilemmas in school I can analyze and reflect on the best outcome available for me. This course has helped me grow more mentally mature. I plan on keeping the concepts I learned, in my life because I have seen positive results.

App utilized during semester - Hydro Coach-drink water
This application worked really well for me during the semester. I used it to keep track of my daily water intake because I found that I was not consuming a healthy amount each day. The application provided statistics which analyzed my drinking habits with relation to my age, weight, and height. It also helped me remember to drink water by using the remainders I set. Overall, I saw positive change in my drinking habits, health and lifelong wellness lifestyle.
